Stealing Harry: Deleted Scenes
These are deleted scenes from Stealing Harry. Posting them because someone requested. Nothing new; these used to be up on Oojahs.
DELETED SCENE #1: Harry Wants Hogwarts
(intended to fit somewhere just after Harry discovers Remus' lycanthropy)
"I want to stay at the school," Harry said suddenly. Dumbledore's smile faded. "On full moons, I want to come stay at Hogwarts. If I stay here than he can stay at home and he won't be all..." he shivered. "It's awful," he said. "You ask Sirius, he'll tell you. I bet if I stayed here he could be at home and he wouldn't bite and stuff."
Dumbledore sat down and regarded him gravely.
"Do you know," he said slowly, "Of the six grown adults who are primarily responsible for you, Harry -- out of your godfather, Remus, Arthur and Molly, Professor Snape and myself...none of us even considered that thought?"
Harry decided he was either about to be praised, or in serious trouble.
"Perhaps..." Dumbledore pulled a sheet of parchment towards him and began to write. He spoke as he did so. "You are quite a unique young man, Harry, in ways other than the world at large may know..." he dipped his quill in the ink and continued. "I want you to give this to Sirius. Not to Remus, is that understood?"
Harry nodded, watching as Dumbledore sealed the folded parchment with wax and a large stamp. He accepted it and carefully tucked it in the pocket of his corduroys.
"I take it you enjoyed your stay with the Gryffindors?" Dumbledore asked.
"Yes, sir," Harry answered. "But please, sir -- "
Dumbledore held up a hand.
"We shall see what comes of that letter," he said firmly.
(Notes found below this scene, which I'd forgotten existed:)
Sam: The letter states that they WILL send Harry to stay with Snape for the full moon, this is NOT negotiable, and by the way did you really think you could hide that Sirius was a dog for NINE YEARS? Sirius, of course, thinks "Harry cannot spend three days with Severus Snape, Snape doesn't know what kind of pajamas he likes or how to treat a child and might just cook and eat him!" I think Dumbledore probably found out a few years ago. Put two and two together. Like the fact that you never see Padfoot when Sirius is around. It's kinda like Superman and Clark Kent.
DELETED SCENE #2: The Child's Caretakers
(alternate scene from the graveyard fight)
Harry was sobbing, curled up and frightened, and Snape eased him to the leafmould of the Forbidden Forest, crouching over him.
There was a centaur towering above them, looking down disdainfully -- but then centaurs always looked disdainful.
"Touch him and I'll slit your throat," Snape snarled.
The centaur smiled, faintly.
"I should kill you for that," he said, in a deep voice, "except that your work is dictated by the stars, and far from being done. Still, I had not thought to see the boy so soon."
Snape lifted Harry, staggering a little.
"Come. I'll lead you out of the forest," the centaur boomed. "None shall harm the child. Or his caretakers."

I wonder when everyone will be out of the office so I can print off the gadzillion pages....? (Do you have it as a word doc so I can make the font smaller?)

I searched and searched and ... well, you get the idea. It's pouring where I live in Central TX, and I finally had time to try to find artists for some of the fics I read when I was a fanbaby.
I actually found a cached version of the old site you had when I first read your fics and was reminded that Friede had done the gorgeous artwork.
--which led me to the name "Friede"
--which led me to a google search
--which led me to this comment that you made way back in January
Please tell Friede (Em?) that I will always miss her gorgeous illustrations. They made the story come alive for me, and I'm sad they're gone, but happy to have had the privilege of seeing them before she took them down. (*am very sad now*)
thank you

*giggles* In fact, I love all of your notes for that little scene. It's too cute.

And now to get off topic and hopefully distract myself. I vaguely remember reading a basic outline of stuff that was to happen in future LC fic. Is that still around somewhere?

The titles are, btw:
The Fugitive from Azkaban
The Crucible
The Order Ascendant
Princes and Soldiers
Here be Dragyns

Sam, I have made a peculiar discovery: after mainlining Stealing Harry in podfic format over the last couple of days, I am left poking at the internet thinking "I want... SOMETHING... why is nothing in fandom what I want..." And apparently the only thing I can read is more of your fic from 2005.

Much of this fic is not actually from 2005 -- it's all dated 2005 because that's when I put the archive up, so each "day" in July 2005 is its own fandom. Like, Stealing Harry is from 2004, I believe, and the Torchwood stuff is from 2009...
