I liked that the "the first" didn't mean "the first"! That was a very sweet twist on the phrase. You made the ship so very not wrong, actually quite wonderful. Like some of the others who've commented, Harry's being "erm... very erm" was just priceless.
I also liked how you used Harry's eyes - first the smiles not reaching his eyes (and Remus noticing that), then when he lifted his head and he and Remus were eye to eye, my heart stopped a little. *g* So many other good things to say about this fic, that other commenters have said better than I.
In my opinion, teacher/student fics, whether SSHG, Snarry, or Remus/Harry are much better and more believable when the time frame is such that the relationship won't carry the question of abuse of power on the teacher's part. Of course, they're all AU now, since our favorite teachers to match them with went the way of DH.
I think the only other Remus/Harry fic I've liked is a time-turner one where Harry is stuck in the past, glamours himself, and meets Remus as either a 6th or 7th year. Again, the two were put on an equal footing, so it was "not wrong" as you put it, and also allowed them to get together once Harry got back to the 'present' (several years removed from Hogwarts, I believe).
