Wow, you really made this work! Sam and Annie is so cute; you've really got how Annie is very pragmatic about how most of the men she works with are total jerks. And how Sam is totally not to her.

I'm really amazed how you made me believe in Gene here -- I know that Gene/Sam is popular among slasher who've watched LoM, but most of them don't write just how nasty it would actually be. But you've got Gene perfectly -- bossy, mean, jealous, bigoted and smart, and Sam who won't back down from him, and occasionally throws a punch at his superior officer.
