I'm not so much fond of relics as I am of the whole concept of the reliquary. The first time I ever encountered one was at the Boston MFA when I was nineteen or so, it was an ivory carved arm for holding a fingerbone in. I'm not sure why I find them so fascinating, it's just the idea of a box designed specifically to hold a holy body part tickles me to death.
