I've been rereading (how many times is this? Four? Five?) and I caught something that threw me off. Towards the end of chapter eleven, the narraration includes the phrase "Downstairs they could hear Fluffy breathing heavily," though they don't, at this point, have any idea who Fluffy is other than a giant, vicious-looking three headed beast. It stands to reason that they wouldn't assume that its name is Fluffy, of all things. :P
