And the opening scene actually made me think of Northern Lights (I think they call it the Golden Compass over there), when Lyra finds the room with all the severed daemons. But yes, nice chapter(s). I'm reading my way through the canon again at the moment as well, but these ones are so much more fun. Harry's not an angry twat.
