It took Tony a second to respond and Steve was genuinely worried he'd broken his best friend when Tony said, "I totally get a toaster."

That may be the single greatest line in Avengers fandom. (Or maybe I'm just too-easily amused by toaster/recruitment jokes.)

Mostly, though, I started out going, "Awwww, Steve," and then spent the rest of the fic giggling my ass off with a huge grin on my face, so I think you can count this one a success. :D
