You know, what's most interesting is that I didn't really realise how painful the story was. It wasn't really about his brother dying, for me -- it was about House saying "I can't fix him" and Wilson saying "I don't want you to fix him. I've accepted it."
Reading it, it IS painful. It's interesting to write something with a HUGE, NOTICEABLE meaning that I didn't give it, but which is still unarguably there.
