That was incredibly spectacular. While reading I was trying to figure out how to describe it: urban fantasy? Magical realism? But the previous commentators nailed it. This is fantasy ala 'American Gods'...but not in an homage or pastiche sort of way...no sort of cross-over...it's just that very low-key, organic magic sort of thing. Incredibly well done, nothing I'd ever have expected from 'White Collar' and definitely the sort of thing you could turn into original work of an amazing caliber. 'Prison Magic' could be the start of a whole new genre! :-)
