I actually find threesomes really hard to write from a physical point of view -- all that choreography -- but that does tend to let me focus more on the emotional side and the negotiations that have to go on beforehand, which I think often enriches the sex.

And I was sort of pleased that Neal got off too quickly -- I don't ordinarily enjoy much awkward/failsex, but it seemed really right, there, and after all he has been essentially gagging for it for the entire story to date :D

It was important to me that Elizabeth be the deciding factor in whether they do this, because I didn't want it to be Peter/Neal Plus El; I really wanted it to be all three of them together, and Elizabeth has to have some authority in order for that to happen. There's a very easy trap to fall into in White Collar, and that is El just sort of allowing this man into their bed; she should want him there as much as Peter does, if in different ways.
