The Carruthers Incident isn't canon. It's something I introduced to sort of alter the flow of the story -- if you think of Exquisite as a mild AU (ie, I've added dialogue we should be able to see in the show but don't) then Carruthers shooting Neal is the turning point where Exquisite veers off from canon, because it's a point where Neal consciously realises Peter's power over him.

Anyhow, glad you're enjoying it :) There'll be some new Exquisite pretty soon, I think -- couple of weeks, maybe. :)
