I'm not sure I felt it was even an afterthought so much as random bits stuck on with tape. :D There was definitely something there, but what wasn't incoherent was either brief or incomplete. Which is a shame, because it's a fascinating relationship, especially to watch Ianto try to explain to an outsider.
