What's intriguing is, he doesn't actually have a bow tie around his neck when he goes to meet the Atraxxi, he just has three ordinary ties. And he throws those away, and we cut to an Atraxxi projection, and when he steps through it, then he has the bow tie on. So where did the bow tie come from? You can kind of see him making a sort of "neckwear knotting" gesture, but that's it.
