I'm with you. I think Jack facing this huge loss/betrayal in Torchwood would have been FANTASTIC. I was getting excited to see the Doctor come save the planet and Jack, and then Jack has to pick up the lonely pieces once more because ... everyone dies.

Now I'm upset that it's not the real one. :(
