Excellent update as always, Sam!

He still hadn't bothered learning to drive.

Slight nitpick, the Doctor had a car, Bessie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doctor_Who_vehicles#Motor_vehicles), in his UNIT days, and I would imagine he still knows how to drive.
