I'm sitting here with a HUGE grin on my face at all the language geekery. It's absolutely wonderful, and just the sort of thing I adore!
The 'Vulcan' language that was invented for some classic Star Trek fanzines, the Kraith series, was composed of syllables (a bit like Japanese) and phonemes. I geeked happily about that for months, if not years, and was then totally and utterly swept away when a word in a Diane Duane Trek novel (Spock's World) had the same phonemes as one of the characters in Kraith!!! (But in a different order, which gave it a similar but slightly different meaning.) GLEE!
