I don't know that Jack's self-absorbed, he seems very aware of other people; he's very calculating in that sense, knows what will get people interested or turn them on. But I do think that the sheer difference in sexual attitudes between 21st and 51st century, combined with his age and relative isolation from people who culturally understand him, might fuck up a lot of his relationships. Imagine him and Estelle -- a proper early-20th-century-girl who was likely conditioned to think that sex equals marriage and men are naturally dominant, that women aren't expected to have pleasure. I think honestly it might freak her out if he tried to see to her pleasure.
