Warnings: Dubious consent; inadvertent/involuntary (but not, I think it's important to differentiate, unwelcome) drug use.
Notes: Originally written for the Dubious Consentacles throwdown on tumblr, a competition designed to increase the number of fics with the Dubious Consentacles tag on AO3 and get the tag canonized. Title: The Best Bad Ideas
Rating: R
Summary: When Clint Barton put on the Captain America costume for a mission, he didn't count on Phil Coulson's reaction. Coulson didn't count on Clint crashing his new team to do something about it.
Notes: This was semi-inspired by a throwaway line in I Shall Not Want Honour In Heaven where Fury is considering putting Clint Barton in the Cap costume before Steve is found. It turned into a terrifying romantic comedy with telepaths. I can't explain it. Also, because it's a bit of a mashup, I ignored the "there are no telepaths/kinetics in AoSverse" thing.
Beta Credit, JESUS: [livejournal.com profile] kallaneboi and [livejournal.com profile] gypsylady gave it a look-over.
Warnings: While I wouldn't actually warn for consent issues on this one, the whole thing is a little heightened by how concerned with consent/coercion Coulson is, so tread cautiously. Also warning for kidnapping. It's a very strange story.

Title: If I Don't Wake Up Dead
Rating: R
Summary: Clint Barton -- subby, ex-carnie white trash, spy -- isn't the kind of guy Captain America goes for. Nobody informed Captain America of this.
Notes: Written as a very belated birthday gift for Arsenic. I hope you like it, bb!

Warnings: Some discussion of depression/PTSD including references to suicidal ideation.
Summary: It turns out, in the 21st century, Steve's best friend is an eighteen-year-old genius named Tony Stark. This might be trouble.
Notes: Written for Ironfries on tumblr, who wanted a young Tony with an older Steve. It incorporated many from the List Of Marr's Favourite Things, which I deduced by reading her Tumblr: Tony being tiny, age differences, Steve crying, butts, and blankets (many). Sorry I couldn't incorporate vampires, babies, and dragons, Marr.

Title: The Most Amazing Things (Some Terrible Lie)
Rating: R
Summary: Tony's decision not to reveal his identity as Iron Man to the world was shrewd and calculated. Too bad it's about to backfire on him like a Jericho missile. (Steve/Tony)
Warnings: None.
Notes: This story is primarily based in the movieverse, but makes use of the situation in 616 where Tony's identity as Iron Man was initially a secret from the world and his teammates, and Iron Man was known primarily as Tony's bodyguard. Also, the title is from "Some Nights" by the band "Fun."; I'm aware that the phrase is "terrible nights" but it sounds like "Lie" so screw reality, the title was too good not to use.

Warnings: Unsafe drinking practices (Ult!Tony), discussion of character death (Peter Parker is dead in the Ultimates universe).
Notes: In the short-run comic "Spider-men", Peter Parker from the normal Marvel universe (usually designated as "616") slips through a portal into the "Ultimate" universe, which is a darker, more adult version of the 616 universe. Notes: I don't speak Tumblr so I don't know how to tell them I did this but the whole story is based on a tumblr post here where the author said "Headcanon: Loki randomly shows up naked and sometimes female whenever he feels like it, and whenever Tony is too drunk to remember why sleeping with the enemy is heavily frowned upon. Tony whines about it in the mornings, but Steve is never sympathetic. They agree that Thor should never be told about it."

Summary: Neal is finding a place for himself, both at the Bureau and in Peter and Elizabeth's life. Unraveling the mystery of the music box might ruin everything -- but that's a risk he has to take.

Chapter Eight

The request, when it came, startled Peter; he'd been expecting something, but this wasn't it. )

A brief note -- this is the eighth chapter of this fic, but the first chapter that deals with the events of S2, so it is the first "new" chapter to be posted. The last seven chapters were posted in a unit over the course of a week, as Chapters 8 - 14 will be. Sorry if this is a trifle confusing. The first seven chapters may be found here.

Upon request, here is a master post for Exquisite, my epic follow-the-leader with White Collar.

Exquisite is a mild AU in which Neal has formed a sexual relationship (involving some bondage and submission) with both Peter and Elizabeth, and the story studies how their canon interactions might affect this relationship. It also introduces several original or semi-original characters including Clive the young forger, Sergeant Calhoun of the NYPD, and Captain Mike Shattuck ("Captain Shattuck" is a canonical offscreen character) who dated Peter before Peter met Elizabeth.

Rating: NC-17; language and sexuality
Warnings: Listed by chapter; so far nothing major, as far as I can tell. Some brief discussion of child abuse, some violence.

You can find all chapters in sequence at the Exquisite tag.

The entire story is also available at AO3.

SEASON ONE

Summary: There's a place in Neal Caffrey's head where he doesn't have to lie to himself or be three steps ahead of the other guy, but so far only Peter has found it -- and Peter won't give him what he really wants. Elizabeth, meanwhile, is slowly adjusting to the idea of abetting felons...

On Storytelling:

Fanfiction is a way of the culture repairing the damage done in a system where contemporary myths are owned by corporations instead of owned by folk.
-- Henry Jenkins

Life is very short. We die on the march. But there is nothing outside the march so nothing can be lost to it. The missing plays of Sophocles will turn up piece by piece, or be written again in another language.
-- Tom Stoppard

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
-- G. Bernard Shaw

A good story should provoke discussion, debate, argument...and the occasional bar fight.
-- J. Michael Strazynski

Here's how to become a great artist. First, get miserable. Misery drives you to become a great artist, but the art does nothing for your misery, which drives you to drugs, which makes you a lousy artist.
-- House M.D.

Humans? They're long gone. Vanished. Extinct. They only exist in stories.
-- Ferngully

Anton Chekov, who was a doctor, said, "Medicine is my wife; writing is my mistress."

Se non e vero, e ben trovato. (Even if it’s not true, it’s a good story.)
-- Italian Proverb

The recipe for becoming a good novelist is easy to give, but to carry it out presupposes qualities one is accustomed to overlook. One has only to make a hundred or so sketches for novels, none longer than two pages but of such distinctness that every word in them is necessary. One should write down anecdotes every day until one has learnt how to give them the most pregnant and effective form; one should be tireless in collecting and describing human types and characters; one should above all relate things to others and listen to others relate, keeping one's eyes and ears open for the effect produced on those present, one should travel like a landscape painter or costume designer. One should, finally, reflect on the motives of human actions, disdain no signpost for instruction about them and be a collector of these things by day and night. One should continue in this many-sided exercise for some ten years; what is then created in the workshop will be fit to go out into the world.
-- Nietzsche

The thief. Once committed beyond a certain point he should not worry himself too much. Thieving is God's message to him. Let him try and be a good thief.
-- Samuel Butler

What is written without effort is generally read without pleasure.
-- Samuel Johnson

Same story, different versions, and all are true.
-- POTC: Dead Man's Chest

I am a humble artist
moulding my earthly clod,
adding my labour to nature's,
simply assisting God.
-- Piet Hein

Every archaeologist knows in his heart why he digs. He digs, in pity and humility, that the dead may live again, that what is past may not be forever lost, that something may be salvaged from the wrack of the ages.
-- From "The Testimony of the Spade"

Reading maketh a full man; conference a ready man; and writing an exact man.
-- Francis Bacon

It is better, of course, to know useless things than to know nothing.

Imagination is more important than information.
